Uninvite Clingy Exes to your Wedding

We have all had the problem of clingy exes. The ones that would call just to tell us they were "doing great!" and wanted to let us know how wonderful their life was without us. This is important to many folks as part of a breaking up process. It should be a brief period of time. Sometimes when the person may not be so stable it can take a very long time for that person to get out of that cycle.

I have seen some guys do more with their lives to prove something to an ex than they ever would have on their own. These guys on a mission want to cure cancer, become a ceo, and donate their time to various charities all by the end of the week. I am sure there even have been a US President here and there too. Those guys can ride that wave of rejection high and wide. The other side is far less productive.

The whiny calls. The random showing up at places they shouldn't be. The friend/unfriend ing on facebook etc. etc.. Those are the ones that drag on forever and can never seem to take a hint. Those should not be invited to any wedding EVER!!! Even if it will break their heart to be uninvited. It's better to have that unstable person at home sulking, rather than at your wedding.... watching you get married... to someone else .... while their brain get soaked in alcohol and let's those emotions run wild.

PLEASE DO NOT INVITE CLINGY EXES TO YOUR WEDDING!!!!!!

It's all about you two as a couple. Do not let other's hog your spotlight. Why am I mentioning this? I read a blog by Andrew Cohen writing about his ex getting married. This wedding day "gift" to his ex girlfriend reads like a puffed up version of post break up notes I had seen in Junior High. He goes on and on about how great this woman was to him and how sad he was to lose her, but now it's good!

Andrew Cohen absolves her of any guilt she might have " worldly absolution from any guilt or sadness she felt between the time she said no to me and the time she said yes to him" REALLY?
What a nice guy. He says it's all good because she's getting married.

I feel so sorry for this girl. He even dragged his deceased father into this.
Until almost literally his dying day, my dad would ask me about her. Near the end, almost exactly two years ago, I did not have the heart to tell him that we had broken up. It gives me peace figuring that he died thinking she'd be in my life when he was gone

This is considered his gift!! If any of you Brides/grooms to be are on the fence about inviting an ex who didn't take your breakup well....DON'T... if you need further proof
Here read the Andrew Cohen blog post to his ex on her wedding day.

WOWing wedding vows

I take you yadda yadda yadda. We have all known the traditional wedding vows from our own wedding experiences and countless romantic movies we have seen over the years. They are all pretty generic and really lose meaning over time. Most people could recite some if they had to... almost like the miranda rights.... you have the right to get married... you do not have the right to get boorish and lazy etc.

When it comes to your wedding day put some good thought into what you will be saying to your husband/wife to be. Traditional religious weddings will usually have a set of wedding vows that you can choose. If you decided that your wedding day was going to be non traditional and you were picking your own wedding vows then you need to get them finished.

The basics:

I, take you ________, to be my _______, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part.

To make them your own... ( I'm really talking to Grooms here because us guys need help sometimes) use specifics.

"To have and to hold from this day forward" What do you two do and where do you go? Your wedding vows could include to take to the shore, the Phillies games, to the concert of that cheesy band we both really like.

"For better or worse" - easy one.. Your best times... "For the feeling of when we met to the feeling when we got lost going somewhere"

" for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part" Can't do much better than this one... but you can wrap this up by saying something like, " from this beginning I will love you and be your strength when you need it, and you will be mine forever."

Wedding Vows are a way of expressing your love to each other. When the wedding day comes it's hard to get those emotions in check so make sure to write your vows and keep a copy to look over. Brides do not be afraid to ask the best man to keep a copy of your vows in his jacket pocket... Just in case!! Make you wedding vows yours

Have a great wedding!!!

Wedding Video in the hot hot sun

I am shooting wedding videos for a nice local Lansdale company. It's beautifully tough work. Long hours and this summer's heat has been crazy. It's not looking like such a smart move to get a job with a uniform of all black. I had a Normandy Farms wedding video shoot this summer and that was nice. Normandy Farms is a really special local wedding venue. ( insider tip.... it ranks up with the fancy NYC shoots --- less money I'm sure ;) ) The layout is ideal. This summer I have mostly been doing wedding videos in NYC or northern Jersey. I would like to do more weddings local if I could, but I must go where I have to go. I guess that is part of having a family and saving for a house in this economy.

"In this Economy" has to be one of the most overused phrases of the past few years. Everyone I talk to at these weddings talk about "this economy". I know it's tough to do a wedding when finances are a concern. My only advice to you is to know WHERE and WHEN to spend your wedding money. Ever thought of the Winter Wedding?

I know this comes from a guy who is not looking forward to wearing all black to the next 100 degree outdoor ceremony, but winter weddings are seriously becoming more popular. It is common knowledge that more weddings happen in the summer, so there are deals to be had saving some serious money. Saving money on wedding costs are important, especially "in this economy".

Celebrity winter weddings are a huge deal. Ice skating champions Kristy Swanson and Lloyd Eisler had a winter wedding. That's obvious, but so did Kevin Jonas and Katherine Hiegl. They did not get married to each other, but they did opt for an "off season" wedding. I doubt money was a big concern with these folks, they went for the winter wedding because of the trend.

These winter time events are easier on guests too. No worries about your guests having summer plans interrupted due to your wedding. Babysitting is easier to obtain in the winter months for those of your guests that have children. You can be saving some money in the process.

Venues, photographers, videographers and the whole lot of wedding workers are swamped during the summer, but they all would like to start filling up their late fall and winter schedule during July/August. This is the time for some good wedding deals!!! If you are planning a wedding for this winter start getting in touch with your wedding photographers and wedding videographers now.

They are busy during this wedding season, but now is the time to put yourself on their schedule. They love the idea of scheduling work for all of their "Top Tier" workers so they can keep them busy during the "light season." Wedding videographers begin their "Winter Special" pricing during the late summer. Start getting in touch with the best of the best. You will be surprised at the savings you will find on GREAT Talent because you were smart enough to know when to book.

You could wind up with a $5,000 video service for $2000. Seriously, the thought of standing outside in 40 degree weather sounds very nice to a guy who wears all black in the searing heat this whole month .... "in this economy."

I work for Tanner Lane feel free to drop us a line about our winter deals.
Have a happy wedding!
