Wedding Video in the hot hot sun

I am shooting wedding videos for a nice local Lansdale company. It's beautifully tough work. Long hours and this summer's heat has been crazy. It's not looking like such a smart move to get a job with a uniform of all black. I had a Normandy Farms wedding video shoot this summer and that was nice. Normandy Farms is a really special local wedding venue. ( insider tip.... it ranks up with the fancy NYC shoots --- less money I'm sure ;) ) The layout is ideal. This summer I have mostly been doing wedding videos in NYC or northern Jersey. I would like to do more weddings local if I could, but I must go where I have to go. I guess that is part of having a family and saving for a house in this economy.


"In this Economy" has to be one of the most overused phrases of the past few years. Everyone I talk to at these weddings talk about "this economy". I know it's tough to do a wedding when finances are a concern. My only advice to you is to know WHERE and WHEN to spend your wedding money. Ever thought of the Winter Wedding?

I know this comes from a guy who is not looking forward to wearing all black to the next 100 degree outdoor ceremony, but winter weddings are seriously becoming more popular. It is common knowledge that more weddings happen in the summer, so there are deals to be had saving some serious money. Saving money on wedding costs are important, especially "in this economy".

Celebrity winter weddings are a huge deal. Ice skating champions Kristy Swanson and Lloyd Eisler had a winter wedding. That's obvious, but so did Kevin Jonas and Katherine Hiegl. They did not get married to each other, but they did opt for an "off season" wedding. I doubt money was a big concern with these folks, they went for the winter wedding because of the trend.

These winter time events are easier on guests too. No worries about your guests having summer plans interrupted due to your wedding. Babysitting is easier to obtain in the winter months for those of your guests that have children. You can be saving some money in the process.

Venues, photographers, videographers and the whole lot of wedding workers are swamped during the summer, but they all would like to start filling up their late fall and winter schedule during July/August.
