WOWing wedding vows

I take you yadda yadda yadda. We have all known the traditional wedding vows from our own wedding experiences and countless romantic movies we have seen over the years. They are all pretty generic and really lose meaning over time. Most people could recite some if they had to... almost like the miranda rights.... you have the right to get married... you do not have the right to get boorish and lazy etc.

When it comes to your wedding day put some good thought into what you will be saying to your husband/wife to be. Traditional religious weddings will usually have a set of wedding vows that you can choose. If you decided that your wedding day was going to be non traditional and you were picking your own wedding vows then you need to get them finished.

The basics:

I, take you ________, to be my _______, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part.

To make them your own... ( I'm really talking to Grooms here because us guys need help sometimes) use specifics.

"To have and to hold from this day forward" What do you two do and where do you go? Your wedding vows could include to take to the shore, the Phillies games, to the concert of that cheesy band we both really like.

"For better or worse" - easy one.. Your best times... "For the feeling of when we met to the feeling when we got lost going somewhere"

" for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part" Can't do much better than this one... but you can wrap this up by saying something like, " from this beginning I will love you and be your strength when you need it, and you will be mine forever."

Wedding Vows are a way of expressing your love to each other. When the wedding day comes it's hard to get those emotions in check so make sure to write your vows and keep a copy to look over. Brides do not be afraid to ask the best man to keep a copy of your vows in his jacket pocket... Just in case!! Make you wedding vows yours

Have a great wedding!!!
